Mr. Wiley Earl Hopson, age 80, of Franklin passed away December 3, 2020.

His memorial service will be held Friday December 11, 2020 at 2:00 PM in the chapel
of Stutts Funeral Home.

The family will accept guests Friday afternoon from 1:00 – 2:00 PM prior to the

Earl was born February 8, 1940 in Heard County to the late Wiley Hopson and Eunice
Daniel Hopson.

He served his country honorably in the US Army for about three years, and was
stationed in Alaska for part of his time.

He owned the Hopson Shell Service Station for 23 years. Many Heard County
citizens remember the service Mr. Earl gave to each of his customers. The service
station was in the same building where Store to Door Pizza is located today.

He enjoyed food and fellowship with his friends and neighbors. He had countless
conversations about local news and gossip with anyone passing by the station.

He loved to go on trips to Biloxi, where he played Blackjack and tried his luck at the
slot machines.

Survivors include: his loving companion, Annie Rene Zeamer; a special nephew,
Jerry Bass; great-nephew and his wife, Ryan and Anna Bass all of Franklin; two
sisters: Gladys Guillaume of Columbus and Martha Ready of Lakeland, FL; and a
number of other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Hopson; and
two brothers: Eddie Ralph Daniel and Dan Kenneth Hopson.
